If you haven’t heard…HONEY IS AWESOME!

  1. It tastes good by itself.
  2. It tastes good drizzled or mixed with just about anything.
  3. It is a natural sweetener with no man-made chemicals.
  4. It is a natural anti-bacterial, which can be used in the place of Neosporin.
  5. Because it is anti-bacterial, it takes a lot for it to go bad – they recently just discovered honey in a jar with a mummy…I’m betting it can be reheated.
  6. If bought locally, then it may help with local, floral allergies (try a tablespoon a day of local honey and see what happens).
  7. It affords a high ABV when making mead because of the sugar make-up – this helped establish our “honeymoon” tradition…give a bride and groom some mead and send them away for a moon and out come babies (this is the “bees” part in the “birds-and-the-bees” talk).
  8. It makes for a great, affordable Christmas gift to friends and family when garnished with red ribbon, a small honey drizzler wooden thingy, and a small basket with a burlap inlay.
  9. You can wash your face with it and unclog pores.
  10. You can wash your hair with it as it is a great conditioner.
  11. Heat up some honey mixed with water and lemon juice and you have an instant hot toddy to sooth your throat or enjoy a nice cool evening by the fireplace.
