Below are some quick and easy-to-follow recipes along with some other fun uses of honey:

Honey vs. Neosporin

Next time you reach for that tube of Neosporin, try honey instead.  Just place a dab of honey big enough to cover the scrape or cut just as you would with Neosporin and then cover up with a band-aid.

Cinnamon (or Ginger) Honey Lemonade

Ingredients and Gear:

  • 1 part honey
  • 3 parts water
  • 2 parts lemon juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick or 1 tablespoon of crushed crystallized ginger
  • Ice
  • Stove
  • Pot
  • Pitcher
  • Stirring spoon

Instructions:

  1. Break up cinnamon stick.
  2. Mix broken up cinnamon stick (or crystallized ginger), honey, and water in pot.
  3. Heat cinnamon (ginger)-honey-water mixture until honey has mixed thoroughly with water.  Mixture should not come to a boil.
  4. Let mixture cool.
  5. Transfer mixture to pitcher.
  6. Stir in lemon juice.
  7. Refrigeration before serving may be preferred, but is not absolutely necessary.
  8. Serve over ice on a hot summer day by the pool!
